Back when we began in 1960, our main focus was to get youth into short-term mission work and to give them opportunities to reach out in Jesus' name. Today, YWAM still focuses on youth, but also involves people of almost every age. YWAM ministries fit into three main categories: evangelism, training and mercy ministry, and is currently operating in more than 1000 locations in over 149 countries, with a staff of nearly 16,000. There are presently 92 teams working in 51 countries amongst 116 people groups. They are a young, creative and growing movement of men and women, all of whom love God, and are committed to the task of reaching unreached people groups.
